At the Foot of the Cross

And being found in the form of man, He came to the earth
He humbled Himself in love, to show us our worth
Obedient to death, even death on the tree
At the cross, He poured out His life to set us free

At the foot of the cross, I lay it all down
My pride and my will, I give up my crown
In the shadow of grace, where mercy is found
At the foot of the cross, true peace will abound

Whoever exalts Himself will be brought down low
But the humble in heart God's grace will show
With a contrite spirit, He hears every plea
At the cross, He draws near to those who bends the knee

For God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the meek
In the shadow of His wings, it's His face we seek
He lifts up the lowly, the humble find grace
And lights our path, so we can finish the race

Come to Me, all who labor, I'll give you My rest
The burden is light when we lean on His chest
Take the yoke of the Savior, be humble and learn
At the cross, where our fleshly ambitions burn

He washed His disciples feet with humble care
The King took the form of a servant beyond compare
Whoever would serve must be lowest of all
At the cross, we answer His humbling call

Let thus mind be in you, the Spirit urges us search
That was in Christ, Who emptied Himself for the Church
With every step, may we follow His lead
At the cross, we find all we could ever need
