You did not wait for me

to draw near to You,

But You clothed Yourself

with frail humanity.

You did not wait for me

to cry out to You,

But You let me hear Your

voice calling me.

And I'm forever grateful to You,

for the cross;

That You came to seek and

save the lost.

You did not have to open the (great)

book of Ruth,

But, Lord, we found great favor

in Your eyes.

You did not have to place

The wedding bond on our hands,

But You did it, Lord,

Because You love us all.

And we're forever grateful,

Lord, to You (the Mighty God)

for the cross

That You came
