Read It And Weep

Lately I've been in the Word,

and long to be there more,

There's a simple understanding

Of things I've never seen before;

It's become a brand new book to me,

the Author made it real;

And weeping is the only way

to express the way I feel.

When I hear the Word,

I embrace what's heard;

I love the things so simple

yet so deep,

Savor every part,

hold it in my heart;

When I'm in the Word

I read it and weep.

As I grasp each line of Scripture,

I hang on every Word;

I bow my head in silence,

for I feel my heart is stirred;

Though wrote so many years ago,

the Spirit's still the same;

And I weep in expectation,

as I whisper His sweet Name.
