Sweet Influence

There is an influence upon me

that I know is real

A connection from a realm

somewhere in the unseen,

It’s an influence that’s heavenly

it comes from above,

It’s Jesus, the great fountain

of agape love.

The sweet influence of Jesus Christ,

Sweet influences of the Seven Stars,

Held firmly by Orion’s bands,

secured in his love,

Sweet influences flows from above.

It gives me real conviction

when I tend to stray

It keeps me walking in the straight

and narrow way,

When friends around me try

to shake me from my stand,

I’m influenced by Jesus

and held firm in His hand.

I see a world of people

all going downstream,

It’s evident their influence

comes from beneath,

But something keeps me going

upstream against that flow,

It’s the influence of Jesus

that’s upon me I know.

A great cloud

of witnesses stands in glory today,

They overcame by the word,

God opened up in their day,

I’m identified with these who

took that great stand,

All influenced by Pleiades

the stars in His right hand.
