The Church is going higher

than it's been before,

Rejoicing over Zion,

We'll sing forever more;

We'll renew old acquaintance

on that golden shore,

And the Church is going higher

than it's been before

On the day of Pentecost

came a mighty rushing wind,

Well, it filled the house with power

all men knew their own language;

And God gave them just a taste

of what we all have in store,

'Cause someday we're going higher

than we've been before.

God's children have been battered,

scorned on every hand.

The world sees the Church

and says this ship is going down;

But I have got good news,

and that the world just can't ignore,

Victory's already mine,

I'm going higher than before..

Rising up, rising up!
