There Is a Land

I have heard of a land
On the faraway strand
Tis a beautiful home of the soul

I have seen some pretty times,
Guess you could say
that I've been around;
Found no place to settle down,
There is a Land.
Oh, I'm just a pilgrim here,
Toiling through a world of fear,
My time to leave is drawing near,
I'm going to that Land.

There is a Land I'm homesick for,
Though I've never seen it before,
I've got loved ones waiting
on that shore,
There is a Land.
And it's not a million miles away,
Or on some far off distant strand;
I'll speed up and then slow down,
There is a Land.

What am I so homesick, for
Just not myself here anymore,
Waiting for that open door,
That leads to that Land.
So I'll dry these weeping eyes,
Lift my head toward the sky,
Farewell to this world goodbye,
I'm going to that Land.

I have heard of a land
On the faraway strand
Tis a beautiful home of the soul
