Wounded, but Still a Soldier

You called me to an army

Gave me the sword of this Word to fight

So I went out to the front lines

Gave my all and fought with all my might

But somewhere in the field I took a hit

The heavy blow brought my spirit low

But I would never quit

I've been wounded, but I'm still a soldier

The battle took its toll on me

But never on my soul

Standing ever with my Lord until the war is over

See the scars from bloody battles

Holding truth the enemy contends

Even like my captain

I have some wounds in the house of my friends

And sometimes in my mind I struggle still

But He's healed me and I'm ready to carry out His will
