Come what may
He didn’t say that it was going to
be easy;
Every promise my Lord has made
We’ve got to fight to claim.
For as many as He called,
He gave the power to overcome;
And every devil that stands before
us
Must be on the run!
So why should I ever think it
strange
When fiery trials should come my
way?
For He said that if I do suffer for
His Name,
With Him I shall reign.
Come what may, with Your Word I
will stay,
Come what may, I’ll press through
anyway;
Come what may, Lord have Your
way.
’ll consider Him
Who for the joy that was set before
Him,
The cross He endured;
And that same life now dwelleth
within me
Victory I’m assured.
For He did say, He’ll never leave
me nor forsake me,
And as a seed of Abraham
I’ll possess the gates of my
enemies!
Why should I ever think it strange
When fiery trials should come my
way?
For He said that if I do suffer for
His Name
With Him I shall reign.
Come what may, with Your Word I
will stay,
Come what may, I’ll press through
anyway;
Come what may, Lord have Your
way.
As I journey along,
May Lord I ever be, courageous
and strong;
For inch by inch I’ll possess the
land
For I’m a journeyman,
By striving lawfully,
Knowing Thou savourest
reverence and humility;
Let the fullness of that meal offering
Be displayed in me!
I should never ever think it
strange
When fiery trials should come my
way,
For You said that if I do suffer for
Your Name,
With You I shall reign.
Come what may, with Your Word I
will stay,
Come what may, I’ll press through
anyway;
Come what may, Lord have Your
way.
When I am down on the ground,
May I press through like a lily
In spite of the muck all around;
Rejoicing in the glory wherein You
have clothed me.
When I am up in the air
And the strong winds blow,
May I ever know that You are
there;
But if I be like a wounded dove,
May I press through with Your
message of Love.
For I no longer ever think it
strange
When fiery trials should come my
way;
For I know that if I do suffer for
Your Name
Lord, with You I shall reign.
Come what may, with Your Word I
will stay,
Come what may, I’ll press through
anyway;
Come what may, Lord have Your
way.
